2025 marks the 950th anniversary of the formation of the Diocese of Chichester and Chichester Cathedral. To celebrate, the children in South Africa and Japan have contributed to ‘Fish950’ – a joint schools’ art project involving Year 6 pupils from across the diocese. The theme of fish was chosen based on the work of St Wilfrid, who founded a monastery in Selsey in 681 and helped the people that lived there to fish. Each child has decorated a fish which will be displayed together in a magnificent sea of artwork in the Cathedral nave this summer.

We look forward to seeing the children’s beautiful pieces in what promises to be a stunning collaborative display when the art installation opens on Monday 23rd June.
